BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham Police are conducting a homicide investigation that left a man dead early Saturday morning.
According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call inside a home in the 100 block of 69th Place North just after 2 a.m..
While conducting a safety check at the location, police found a man unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
While witnesses were taken to Birmingham Police headquarters for questioning, no one has been taken into custody for the shooting.
Details are limited as the investigation is ongoing.
The victim has been identified, but officials said his identity will not be released until the family as been notified.
