Finding the instruments is Conor’s ‘number one priority’

A music graduate is on desperate hunt to find two saxophones that were stolen from him in Longsight.
Conor Parler-Delvis was in the process of moving out and had loaded his car with his belongings, only to find them missing on the morning of June 30.
Several items were stolen, but the most important were an alto and tenor saxophone which is a family heirloom. Conor says police were called, and while he was able to retrieve some items, the case has since been closed.

He is still without two of his most prized possessions, however, and now the 22-year-old has been left with no choice but to raise awareness about the stolen saxophones himself.
A recent graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music that has played gigs in popular spots like Matt and Phreds Jazz Club and Band on the Wall, the instruments are of great importance to Conor who is pursuing a career as a performing musician.

Conor told the M.E.N: “Music is my career, it’s what I want to do with my life. It’s what I’ve always done with my life.
“The tenor saxophone was my grandad’s, it’s basically a family heirloom he passed away when I was very young.
“The sax is one of the very last things my mum has of her dad, so it’s a very emotional item for us as well as being very practical for me earning money and being able to further my career.
“The combined cost of the saxes is around £12,000 and I simply do not have the money to try and replace them and so trying to recover them is my number one priority.”

Conor believes the items stolen from his car were originally kept at an address just south of Whitworth park.
The Alto saxophone is a worn silver Selmer Mark VI, serial number 240580. The tenor is gold with silver keys Selmer Mark VI, serial number 91928.
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
