Anyone other than a specific person who enters a Merseyside property will be arrested and could go to prison. Merseyside Police, along with the Wirral Anti-Social Behaviour Team and Regenda Homes have secured closure orders on two properties in Birkenhead due to alleged ongoing anti-social behaviour and other criminality.
Starting in summer last year, officers say they received numerous complaints about two flats on Price Street. They worked alongside partner agencies and the local community to conduct an investigation.
Yesterday (Thursday May 16), a three-month partial closure order under Section 86 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing act 2014 was successfully granted. This allows only a specific person access to the property.
However, anybody not on the court order will be subject of an arrest that could lead to a custodial sentence or a large fine.
These closure orders were all part of Operation Trespass, a government led scheme that has been rolled out to all police services in the country to help and identify vulnerable victims who are having their properties taken over by organised crimes groups.
Always call 999 if a crime is in progress. You can also report anti-social behaviour and other crime to Merseyside Police’s social media desk, Merseyside Police Contact Centre, or via 101.
