QPR have confirmed they have taken up an option to extend Michael Frey’s contract.
The Swiss striker’s deal at Loftus Road was due to expire this summer but an option in it enabled the club to extend it by a year.
West London Sport recently revealed that Jonathan Varane had agreed a new contract, the option to extend Frey’s would be taken up and that Paul Smyth has been offered a new deal.
Smyth has another year left on his contract.
Frey, 30, has made 40 appearances and scored 10 goals since his arrival from Belgian club Royal Antwerp in January 2024.
Rangers are in discussions about a potential longer-term deal for him but in the meantime have moved to keep him at the club for at least the coming season.
