The man was captured on video being stabbed
Two thugs have been filmed repeatedly stabbing a man and battering him with a hammer during a horrifying assault in broad daylight.
It is understood the sickening attack happened on Sunday, on Donaldson Street in Hamilton.
The video, which was shared with The Daily Record, is too distressing to show.
The defenceless victim can be seen lying on the ground in an area close to homes and surrounded by trees in the Lanarkshire town.
One of the attackers is then caught on camera stabbing the man in the back before plunging the blade into his upper leg twice.
The man was attacked with a knife and a hammer
A second attacker armed with a hammer then appears to drag the hammer across the victim’s neck before striking him over the back of the head.
Before leaving, the hammer-wielding attacker stands over the injured man, shouting at him while pointing the weapon in his direction.
The savage attack was recorded by horrified neighbours in nearby homes, and afterwards the victim could be seen lying on the ground clutching his head.

Both attackers are clearly visible in the recording. The man with the knife had short grey hair and was wearing a grey jumper, black trousers and brown boots.
The second attacker had a shaved head and was dressed in a white T-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
