Drivers are being warned of major traffic disruption as the emergency services deal with an incident on Stratford Road.

Police are dealing with a reported collision involving a supermarket lorry outside Sainsbury’s in Shirley.

The A34 Stratford Road blocked Northbound and there is slow traffic from B4102 Blackford Road to Shakespeare Drive.

National Express West Midlands bus routes 5, 6 and 76 have been placed on diversion.

West Midlands Roads said: “A34 Stratford Road Northbound. Road traffic collision near Sainsburys.

“Road blocked – Traffic congestion in opposite direction.

“Plan Ahead: Allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible.”

National Express West Midlands said: “Service Disruption Due to an Emergency service lead incident at Stratford Road #Shirley Services diverting from Solihull ONLY: 5: Marshall Lake Road and Union Road.

“6 and 76: Solihull Road and Danford Lane We apologise for any disruption to your journey.”

West Midlands Police are looking into the incident and will be issuing a statement.
