Emmerdale viewers are speculating that Sarah Sugden, played by Katie Hill, may be facing her end as she becomes the focus of a fresh plotline.
Since her introduction in 2005 as the offspring of Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), Sarah’s life in the Dales has been anything but calm. She has spent most of her life in hospital due to a life-altering diagnosis.
Sarah was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder known as Fanconi anaemia when she was just six years old. This led to her requiring a life-saving bone marrow transplant and a heart transplant, leaving her anxious about her lifespan compared to other villagers.
In addition to this, Sarah has fought cancer twice and suffered from heart failure in 2018, a side effect of chemotherapy.
Despite her health struggles, Sarah is resolved to live a normal life. After being rejected by Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) due to her health condition, she has found new love, reports Leeds Live.
Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) made a dramatic entrance into the village last month, stealing a quad bike from Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J. Robb) farm before crossing paths with Sarah.
The pair immediately bonded over their shared passion for cars.Sarah, a mechanic who has recently started dating Kammy, has been displaying a more daring side.
The couple swiped Cain Dingle‘s (Jeff Hordley) car and locked Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower) in a van to steal goods.
Following her arrest and subsequent bail, with Kammy attempting to shoulder the blame, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) grows concerned about her granddaughter’s new relationship and enlists Jacob to win her back.
As Sarah becomes a central character in recent episodes, Emmerdale viewers speculate that the discussions around Sarah’s health may be hinting at her impending demise.
One fan shared on Reddit: “All these scenes with Sarah make me think…She’s in the grave Cain’s stood over.”
Another responded: “Thank you I’ve been saying it’s Sarah since they showed the flashforward. She’s been barely used and all of a sudden beginning of the year appears in loads of episodes.”
A third queried: “Would they do that? no. no. no. no. They really wouldn’t do that? They can’t do that. Would they?.”
“I hope not, it would be a shame without Debbie coming back to kill her off”, one viewer added.
“They’ll just have her go and live with her mum and die offscreen and her family all go up for the funeral because her mum wanted her buried there. It’s not hard to write it”, another suggested.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
