Customers currently receive a free replacement for a broken display, but this offer is only valid for a limited time. In the future, customers will instead be able to order a replacement smartwatch at a significant discount, while Core Devices evaluates whether selling replacement parts is an option to enable customers to repair their devices. A solution for software issues, such as the sometimes inaccurate step and sleep tracking, is also in the works.
While Core Devices has not yet announced a timeline for these software updates, the launch of the Pebble Round 2 is drawing nearer. Production was originally scheduled to begin in May but was postponed due to a problem with the manufacturing of the case. The current plan is to begin production in the last week of July. It is expected to take about two months to produce all 14,000 pre-ordered Pebble Round 2 units.
