BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Always.bank, an online banking service created for small business owners, has opened its headquarters at 2308 1st Ave. S., Suite 108, in Birmingham, which will also function as a co-working space for entrepreneurs.
What BasePoint offers
The BasePoint facility includes offices, Zoom rooms, board rooms, an education center and a podcast studio.
Always.bank founder Steve Smith described the space as an all-in-one resource for small business owners and entrepreneurs.
Always.bank is an extension of 22nd State Bank and focuses on what Smith calls the “main street small business” — a segment he said is often neglected.
Why Birmingham
Smith said the company chose Birmingham because it is already a hub for small business.
“Birmingham provides a lot of opportunity and while there are a lot of people that say they do small business here, there’s nobody truly focused on what I call the life and heart of small businesses which is main street businesses,” Smith said.
Smith said BasePoint is a reflection that small business banking should extend beyond transactions and into real relationships and community.
Membership and pricing
BasePoint offers three membership levels — essential, premium and ultimate. Pricing for each tier was not listed on the website.
