After a lengthy spell of good weather it seems that temperatures are finally set to drop across Greater Manchester in the coming days.
Welcome relief to many, who can’t remember what it feels like to be cool, the latest Met Office forecast shows temperatures cooling down, and Greater Manchester is set to drop as low as 22C within days.
Fortunately while the hotter temperatures may abate slightly, the dry weather looks to continue. Although the temperature will gradually ease, it still means we can get outside and make the most of summertime.

As the weekend approaches, no doubt the great outdoors is calling. A pub beer garden in the summer months is one of life’s great pleasures, and if you’re in need of inspiration, thankfully we’re spoilt for choice across Greater Manchester.

If you’re sticking to the suburbs this weekend, and are looking for a pint, some pub grub and a good time, there’s a place that ticks all the boxes.
Last summer, The Little B, on Marsland Road was given a summer refurbishment giving the space a fresh new look with bold colours, glowing neon and plenty of plant life. While its look and feel is contemporary, it’s name goes quite the way back.
As general manager John told us earlier this year: “Back in 1908 there was a gentleman named Sam Brookes who had a couple of hotels – one was called the Big B which is no longer there now and is offices on the corner of Brooklands and Marsland Road.

“He also had a smaller guesthouse which was the ‘Little B’ which still remains and is now the pub.”
Inside the boozer you’ll find pool tables ready and waiting, dart boards for a little friendly competition, drinks that taste as good as they look, and big screens showing every match worth your time watching.
But when the suns out, its’s the beer garden where you want to plonk yourself down and grab a refreshment and something to eat. In the summer months, its two outdoor spaces are packed out for after-work pints, weekend catch-ups and even late-night shots under the fair lights.

Earlier this year, the pub unveiled plans to partner with a big street food brand, with the aim of putting the venue on the culinary map to match its recognition as one of the best places in Sale.
Over the last few months it’s launched its permanent kitchen takeover from Greek brand Laros, who are already well known over in Liverpool. Their first Greater Manchester spot, the street food pros are serving up everything from gyros wraps, souvlaki skewer boxes, loaded hot boxes and fresh Greek salads, alongside a selection of vegan dishes using traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients.
Laros, which is open for order at the Trafford pub from 12pm to 10pm, also offers Greek-style burgers including The Laros Burger; beef patty with feta cheese and sriracha mayo, Grilled Chicken with honey mayo mustard sauce and the Fried Talagani Cheese Burger with sriracha mayo.

Visited from miles around, this well-known boozer has been described as ‘lovely’ and having a ‘great atmosphere’ by its customers on TripAdvisor. While others have called it ‘brilliant’ and a ‘excellent’ venue for gatherings.
Famous faces to have popped in include Alex Higgins, who used to play snooker there back in the day, as well as Robbie Williams, and more recently Tommy Fury and his dad Big John, according to general manager John.
Throughout the week, the pub also hosts quiz nights, live music, and is also a big gathering spot for local community groups and meetings. In April, it also hosted its own festival with music and guest pints.
