Three Birmingham firefighters injured in fire near airport

Three Birmingham firefighters were injured while battling a fire near the airport, and all are expected to survive, according to Birmingham Fire.

Three Birmingham firefighters were injured while battling a fire near the airport, according to Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire broke out shortly before midnight Sunday at the Airport Lounge on 50th Street North. The business was closed at the time.

“All were alert and conscious upon departure from the scene and noncritical,” Birmingham Fire said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
