A man is being treated for stab wounds following a ‘serious’ incident in north Manchester this evening (July 27).
Police have been at the scene on Spender Avenue in Cheetham Hill since around 6pm following the incident. A section of the street has been cordoned off, with officers seen working inside a residential property.
A man is understood to have been injured in the incident and is being treated in hospital for stab wounds.

An air ambulance is understood to have landed on Bignor Street Park nearby. Eyewitnesses have also reported seeing detectives and dog handlers working at the scene.
Nearby Thackeray Close was also taped off as officers made enquiries.

In a late update on Monday night, Greater Manchester Police confirmed initial details of the incident and added that they do not believe there to be a ‘wider threat’ to the public.
Detective Superintendent Sarah Harris, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “We are dealing with a serious incident on Spender Avenue in Cheetham Hill this evening that has resulted in a man being treated in hospital for stab wounds.
“We want to reassure the community we don’t believe there to be any wider threat as we work to understand the facts.
“We would like to thank residents for their patience and for helping with our enquiries – we will provide further updates when we have them.”
