It’s well-documented by now that publisher Capcom has been nailing it nearly every step of the way for many years now. It’s been a pretty wild run, and the company’s games have been selling pretty consistently well too.
Whether it’s brand new IPs or longstanding franchises, it seems Capcom has got it figured out.
In a new financial report for the quarter ending 30th June 2026, the company has provided updated sales numbers for games like Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem, and it paints a pretty rosy picture.
For example, the sci-fi hack n’ shoot action game has now sold over 2.5 million units; that’s up another half a million from when we last heard about sales in early May. It’s pretty good going for a new IP; it helps the game is great, too.
Meanwhile, Resident Evil Requiem has now surpassed 8 million units sold. It reached 7 million at the end of April, so it’s managed another million in three months, which is very solid work indeed.
The report also says Devil May Cry 5 has reached lifetime sales of 14 million, as it’s enjoyed boosts from the Netflix animated show as well as a port to Switch 2.
Capcom seems to have it figured out, then.
It’s also on the verge of launching Onimusha: Way of the Sword this September, which I expect will do well, followed by Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, so it’s still not done with 2026.
