‘Massive police presence’ in Moston as road blocked off and ambulances at scene

There is a ‘massive’ police presence in Moston tonight (Tuesday, July 28) as officers respond to an incident.

Eyewitnesses report a large cordon in place on Lightbowne Road near to the junction with Nuthurst Road.

Nearby residents also report a ‘very large’ police presence on nearby Shawford Road with the road blocked off.

Photos show the scene show a sizeable cordon in place on the road, with both lanes blocked and multiple cars at the scene.

A resident said the police had been there since approximately 8:30pm this evening with police cars, unmarked vehicles and fast response ambulances all at the scene.

The nature of the incident is not yet clear. We have approached Greater Manchester Police for more information.
