One rider suffered serious injuries

Two bikers were taken to hospital following a major crash on the A57 Snake Pass.
Emergency services were called to reports of the smash between two motorbikes near Glossop just after 4pm on Saturday (August 1).
Both riders were rushed to hospital. One of the riders was a man in his 20s who is believed to have suffered serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The other rider was a man in his 70s who is not believed to be seriously injured. A section of the road was closed off by police with ambulance services also at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, an air ambulance also attended the incident.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “We were called to a report of a collision between two motorbikes on the A57 Snakes Pass close to Glossop just after 4pm today.
“Both riders were taken to hospital for treatment. A man in his 20s is understood to have sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and a man in his 70s is not believed to be seriously hurt.”
