Regional housebuilder Lovell Partnerships has marked the completion of the transformation of the former Foxfield School site in Moreton, delivering affordable homes and significant community investment.
The brownfield site was bought by Lovell from Wirral Council in 2024 following a competitive tender process, with planning and construction accelerated to deliver a 66-home development of two- and two-and-a-half storey two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.
Delivered in partnership with North West housing association Onward Homes, the development has transformed a long-vacant site off Douglas Drive into a new mixed-tenure community.
The development provides a mix of terraced and semi-detached homes, offering two-, three- and four-bedroom properties across a range of affordable tenures including shared ownership, affordable rent and Rent to Buy through Onward.
Tahreen Shad, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said, “Working alongside Onward Homes and Wirral Council, we have transformed a long-vacant site into a thriving new community that provides high-quality, affordable homes for local people for years to come.
“This brownfield regeneration development demonstrates what strong partnerships can achieve when there is a shared ambition to unlock much-needed housing. These homes not only meet local demand, but also prioritise sustainability, accessibility and placemaking.”
During construction, the project supported local employment and skills opportunities through apprenticeships, work placements and engagement with local schools and colleges. The scheme generated significant spend within the local supply chain, helping to support businesses across Wirral.

As part of its commitment to unlocking challenging sites to expand affordable housing stock for communities in the North West, Lovell has also partnered with Onward to deliver the first phase of Signallers Croft near Crewe and the mixed-tenure Dock Road North scheme in Port Sunlight.
