Police at the scene in Altrincham
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in Timperley.
Emergency services raced to Shaftesbury Avenue following reports of the incident on Sunday evening (August 2), with the road shut as a result of the incident.
The fire brigade, Greater Manchester Police and ambulance attended the scene. According to the fire service, the crash involved three vehicles.

Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 6.58pm on Sunday 2 August 2026, one fire engine from Wythenshawe Community Fire Station was called to attend a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Shaftesbury Avenue, Altrincham.
“Crews arrived quickly and used a thermal imaging camera and other specialist equipment to make the vehicles safe. Firefighters also assisted North West Ambulance Service in assessing two casualties, with one person conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 35 minutes.”
