The Balmoral hotel has launched three event spaces drawing inspiration from three of Scotland’s biggest literary figures.
The hotel introduced the reimagined suites, named The Rebus Room, The Rabbie Burns Room, and The Muriel Spark Room, on July 30.
The spaces aim to offer experience-led hospitality, featuring custom menus and signature cocktails tailored to each writer’s world.
The hotel also provides optional entertainment, including live storytelling, traditional Scottish music, and literary discussions.

In The Muriel Spark Room, guests are served seared tuna with pomegranate and traditional Azorean Molho de Vilão, paired with a cocktail named The Prime Pour.
The Rabbie Burns Room features a reimagined cranachan alongside A Red, Red Rose, a drink paying tribute to the poet.
Meanwhile, The Rebus Room offers charred beef carpaccio with whipped blue cheese, matched with a smoky whisky creation called The Last Clue.
The cocktails were developed by Bar Prince head bartender Mattia Rovaris.
The suites’ interiors incorporate timber flooring, Scottish textiles, and antiques, designed to reflect a private Scottish home.

Author Sir Ian Rankin said: “Edinburgh has always been the soul of these stories, and The Balmoral has captured that atmosphere.
“Seeing Rebus leave a lasting legacy in one of the city’s landmarks feels fitting and rather special.”
