James Bond producer Amy Pascal has confirmed when Daniel Craig’s replacement as 007 will be revealed.
Following the departure of longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, who stepped back from the franchise in 2025, Amazon MGM assumed creative control of the spy franchise.
Soon after, it was announced that Pascal and David Heyman would be producing future instalments of the franchise under their Pascal Pictures and Heyday Films banners.

The highly anticipated Bond movie is planned for a 2028 release, with Denis Villeneuve directing and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight penning the script.
According to Pascal, fans are very close to finding out who will replace Craig as the fictional British spy, and the new 007 will likely be announced by the end of 2026.
Asked by Deadline about the timeline for the new Bond, Pascal replied: “I would say the end of the year is a good bet.”
She continued: “We are being really, really methodical. Having worked with Barbara Broccoli at the studio, I mean, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow.”
Teasing fans with what’s to come, she added: “And it’s got to be something really different that is a stirring and exciting and different.”
In May, the audition process for the coveted role begun, with the next round of auditions due to take place in August.

Earlier this year, Knight opened up about his Bond script, telling BBC Radio 4: “I can’t really talk about what I’m doing with Bond but I’m enjoying every single second of it. It’s fantastic. I’m loving it.”
Speaking about Ian Fleming’s novels, he added: “The books are so good. So underrated as literature. There’s something about the world that he created that is tangibly real, and yet it’s not real. It’s almost dreamlike somehow. And I just love the way, the style of how he writes, and the dialogue is so good.”
