So when it was announced that the show would be officially returning to our screens for an unexpected fourth season today [August 5], we were overjoyed – especially when we heard that, this time round, Ted would be swapping the Premier League for a second-division women’s football team. Even better, Sex Education favourite Tanya Reynolds has also joned the cast.
The new role is being billed as Ted’s biggest challenge yet. Jason Sudeikis will be returning to the pivotal role, alongside fan-favourites Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt, as well as a host of new players both on and off the pitch. A return to Richmond wouldn’t be complete without its familiar faces. Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift are all back for season four, joined by newcomers Tanya Reynolds (from Sex Education), Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
Speaking on The View earlier this month, Waddingham said she was delighted to reprise her role as Rebecca Welton after believing season three had been the end of her journey. She also teased what’s to come, praising the new cast as ‘magic’ and hinting that a new romance could be on the horizon for Rebecca.
