Leeds United finally managed to get Jack Harrison off their books this summer.
After three separate loan spells away, the Whites were finally able to find a permanent buyer for Harrison. Despite being just 29, Harrison returned to the MLS, this time signing for New England Revolution.
The winger posted an emotional farewell message to Leeds supporters recently. But it’s fair to say that the bridge is broken beyond repair between Harrison and the Elland Road faithful.
Since leaving, Harrison has harmed his chances of rebuilding those bridges even further. He recently aimed a sly dig towards his former employers.

After completing his move stateside, Harrison was recently unveiled by his new club during their 4-1 win over Atalanta on 25 July.
After taking a lap of the pitch and getting introduced to New England Revolution’s supporters, Harrison said, “The fans were incredible. I’ve never been recognised on the field like that before. I said to my agent the other day that this has been the best signing that I’ve done in my career so far,” in an interview for the club’s official website.
The saying is that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This may turn out to be the case for Harrison. He should be a valuable player for the Revolution considering the standard of the league he is now playing in.
Perhaps Harrison’s judgement of the Leeds fanbase remains clouded after the outpouring of criticism he received from them in recent years. Rightly so too, I might add.
Ultimately, Harrison’s clear dig at the Leeds fans will mean very little, as they are just happy they don’t have to sit through another afternoon watching him attempt to cross a ball.
Another winger could end up at Leeds this summer
With Harrison already gone, everything is beginning to point towards Largie Ramazani and Willy Gnonto following him out the door.
If this is the case, then the 49ers will surely want to bring in another winger.
Igor Paixao has again been linked with the Whites this summer. However, a move for the Brazilian seems complicated considering Aston Villa are also reportedly interested in Paixao.
But the fact we have even shown an interest in Paixao proves that a new winger is seemingly on the 49ers’ agenda before the end of the transfer window.
If Gnonto left, Dan James and Brenden Aaronson would be our backup wingers, and this simply won’t cut it. So bringing in another wide player is a necessary piece of business we must conduct.
