Guildford’s newest virtual golf facility has opened and it features seven high-tech virtual bays, a bar and seating area and a pool table.

It is fair to say that Guildford and Surrey more widely is known across the country for its golf courses and clubs but in 2026 it has a competitor in the form of its virtual counterpart.

The Links Lounge has opened in Guildford with seven high-tech virtual bays from GOLFZON, inside an air conditioned facility which also features a bar with beers on tap, large seating areas and a pool table.

While real-life golf relies on how good the weather is, virtual golf clubs are more similar driving ranges, pubs or pool and snooker lounges. Links Lounge is open seven days a week, from 8am until 10pm.

“We do not see this as a replacement to the real thing, but rather an expansion of the opportunities to play when time, or our Great British weather may not allow.” They say on their website.

The virtual bays allow you to play with your own set on more than 260 courses from around the world. Two of the bays even have moving base plates.

Walk-ins at the Lounge cost £30 per hour during off-peak times and £45 during peak times, which can be split between up to six people.

Memberships are also available, these offerings range from £99 a month to £1,950 a year. The Lounge also features corporate meeting rooms, and can host company events and days-out.

The Links Lounge only opened in July but its reviews on Google show a positive reception. reviewers described the virtual bays as “state of the art technology” and credited their realism.

Others suggested it is “what Guildford has been crying out for” and described staff as “friendly and helpful”.

You can find the Links Lounge in the Slyfield Industrial Estate at 2 Thornberry Way, Guildford GU1 1DQ.
