Hollyoaks is set to explore Ste Hay’s struggles with grief ahead of the wedding of daughter Leah. The character is currently dealing with the aftermath of husband Rex Gallagher’s murder.
While he initially moved on with ex James Nightingale, recent episodes have seen his suspicions raised around his former husband, especially after he appeared to show no remorse at his grave. Last night’s episode saw him finally lose it with James, leading Ste to call the police.

Ste also broke down in sister Leela’s arms as he admitted regrets over his relationship with Rex, and in scenes airing next week, Ste’s grief really starts to hit.
As Leah and Imran’s wedding fast approaches, the couple decide on a location for the nuptials. They tell Ste that they are planning to have a big multi-faith event in the village.
However, Ste’s mind is elsewhere, as his grief begins to catch up with him.
Meanwhile, James gets involved in the events, and organises a wine tasting session at The Hutch.
Later on, Ste hears that Rex’s body is set to be released and he needs to make arrangements, leading him to get into a panic.

It comes ahead of a storyline that will see Ste go missing, which was leaked this week by Cindy Cunningham actor Steph Waring.
In a TikTok video about her character’s recent arrest, fans noticed three missing person posters in the background featuring Ste, Leela and Mercedes McQueen.
Ste’s poster reveals he disappears on 2 September, adding: “Ste is vulnerable and may need help. If you’ve seen him, spoken to him or know where he might be, please contact the police or get in touch with his family.”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
