Ukrainian forces targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Tatarstan republic, while a blackout was reported in annexed Simferopol and fires broke out in Donetsk Oblast during overnight attacks on Aug. 10, according to monitoring channels.
Eyewitnesses shared footage showing drones flying over the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan, where an oil refinery was targeted by Ukrainian forces, The Kyiv Independent reported.
In Crimea’s Simferopol, parts of the city were temporarily left without electricity after explosions and gunfire were heard during a drone attack.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces targeted energy infrastructure in Donetsk Oblast, while a fire broke out at a shopping center in the city of Makiivka, according to the monitoring channel Exilenova Plus.
Ukraine regularly carries out strikes against military infrastructure deep inside Russia and in annexed territories as part of efforts to reduce Moscow’s ability to continue waging its war.
On the night of Aug. 8, Ukrainian forces struck an S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile launch site in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, hours after the system had been used to fire missiles at Ukraine, Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign “Madyar,” announced.
Early on Aug. 8, Ukrainian forces also struck an oil refinery in Samara Oblast and another refinery in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Krai, according to monitoring channels.

Another oil refinery in the town of Ilsky in Krasnodar Krai was struck and set ablaze during a Ukrainian attack, Supernova Plus reported.
