The Public House Group will be galloping into EC1 with The Horses
The Public House Group is looking to add to their winning streak with another new opening next month. This time, they’re in Clerkenwell, transforming the old Coach & Horses, which has been known as The Coach for the past few years, into The Horses.
The group, led by Phil Winser, James Gummer and Olivier van Themsche, has been on an absolute roll over the past few years, taking West London (and The Cotswolds) by storm. We’ve been to all their venues – The Pelican, The Bull at Charlbury, The Hero, The Fat Badger and The Hart – and love them all. The group really does seem to have the Midas touch.
More details are still to be revealed, but from the sounds of it, this latest addition will follow a similar formula to the group’s other pubs, combining the warmth of a classic boozer with top-level cooking. The menu will change daily, and the kitchen will use produce from the group’s own gardens in The Cotswolds. If it ain’t broke, hey?
This new opening is yet more proof that EC1 is the place to be. Located on Ray Street, The Horses will be just down the road from Jackson Boxer’s new joint Vesper, and it can expect new neighbours very soon in the form of Camille and ex-Kiln head chef Karla Knowles.
Judging by the Public House Group’s track record, this one is a surefire bet for success.
