Two people suffered life-changing injuries in a serious crash on a busy road.

The air ambulance was called to Stone Street in Stelling Minnis, between Canterbury and Hythe, yesterday afternoon.

The road was shut in both directions near the junction with Curtis Lane.

Multiple emergency services attended the scene, including police, paramedics and the fire service.

The air ambulance has also landed in a field next to the route.

In an updated statement this morning, police said they were called to reports of a serious collision involving two cars at 3.35pm on Wednesday.

“Two people were taken to a London hospital with life-changing injuries. They remain in hospital in a serious but stable condition,” a spokesperson said.

“Two others were also taken to a local hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

“The road was closed whilst the incident was attended to but has since now reopened.”
