It has been described as a “once in a lifetime” investment opportunity.
A “once in a lifetime investment opportunity” at one of the Highland’s most iconic landmarks is on offer.
The Loch Ness Centre and the Clansman Harbour, alongside a range of retail facilities have been owned by The Bremner family since 1964.
The family said the “time was right” to put the assets on the market — with significant interest being made within the first 24 hours of it being advertised.
The selling agent, Grant Stewart Chartered Surveyors, said that the landmark site is gaining international attention from investors.
Since its inception in 1980 the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre has long been an iconic visitor attraction in the Highlands and is operated today by Continuum Group.
The retail operation is operated by well known local company the Cobbs group, whilst Jacobite Cruises utilises the Clansman Harbour for its scenic trips across Loch Ness.
Grant Stewart, owner of agent said: “The Loch Ness Centre was revamped recently, with a £2m investment.
“It’s really cool, fully interactive and David Tennant does the narration throughout the centre.
“It has been brought into the 21st century and attracts over 250,000 visitors annually.”
The assets also include five-acres of land opposite Urquhart Castle, which Mr Stewart said has the potential for “substantial commercial development.”
“There is a lot of extra land that can be further developed,” he continued.
“There is scope for more services — subject to planning and being sympathetic to nature around — which would complement and benefit the area.”
The Bremner family added: “Following some initial approaches we have made the decision that now is the right time for us to hand over the reigns of the business and pursue other interests.”
