Neighbours fans have a new way to watch classic episodes for free.
The official channel Neighbours Classics has been quietly uploading episodes from the very beginning (with the first episode’s odd Nightmare on Elm Street opening), and are currently about two-thirds through the episodes from 1986.
There are individual episodes, as well as omnibus instalments combining all five of a week’s episodes into an hour 40 minutes of Aussie soap drama.
Episodes are in HD, although the uploads are quite dark, missing both the credits and subtitles, and fans have noted that some incidental music has been changed.
A separate official channel titled Neighbours Ramsay St is also uploading more recent archive episodes, and is currently working its way through 2013 after having uploaded all of 2012.

This channel is also uploading compilation videos focusing on specific storylines, including Dr Rhys Lawson’s dodgy behaviour, and the soap’s first gay relationship with Chris Pappas and Aidan Foster.
Neighbours is, of course, premiering new episodes four times a week on Prime Video, and you can find a spoiler round-up for this week here.

Unfortunately, the soap was axed again this year after Amazon chose not to renew the deal, and no other distributor has picked it up. It is expected that new episodes will continue to air until the end of the year.
The cast have urged fans to spread the word that Neighbours still has an engaged audience, in that hope that someone will rescue it.
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach Comedy.
