Leeds City Council are consulting residents on this year’s woodland creation programme with three sites identified in South Leeds.
The proposal at Bismarck Street in Beeston Hill is to plant two standard trees (6-8 feet) on a small green space, just off Lady Pit Lane.
The plan in Belle Isle is to plant 116 whips (small saplings) on land behind Cockburn John Charles Academy close to Ward Lane. The planting would be carried out this winter between November and February.
The third site is at Helston Walk in Middleton where 126 whips (small saplings) are to be planted on land behind 100 Helston Road.

A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said:
“Creating new woodlands is a key part of making Leeds a greener, healthier city for future generations. We want to hear your views to help shape these planting schemes, ensuring they meet the needs of local communities whilst delivering benefits such as cleaner air, increased biodiversity and valuable wildlife habitats.
“We encourage everyone to participate and have their say in shaping the future of our city’s green spaces.”
