A car has smashed into a fence protecting a vital railway line in Bristol this evening, Monday, May 19.
The car crashed into the fence along St Anne’s Park Road, near the junction of Newbridge Road in Brislington.
Before crashing, the car is believed to have mounted the pavement, hit a concrete bollard and then careered into the fence.
Passers-by have been overheard telling the people who were in the car that they cannot park there.
One witness told BristolLive: “Crash at the top of St Anne’s Park Road.
“The bus wasn’t involved, but the car has nearly gone through a fence leading to the main Bristol to London railway line.”
Pictures taken at the scene show the car has smashed into the metal fence and caused very significant damage.

The fence is now badly bent and leaning into the trees along the side of the road.
The road is not blocked and traffic is able to safely pass the car, but the pavement will be impassable until the vehicle is recovered.
