Harry Maguire headed United in front with less than two minutes played, but they struggled to build on that advantage and were pegged back by Samuel Chukwueze after Bruno Fernandes saw a spot-kick saved by Lorenzo Torriani. Michael Carrick’s side led again through Patrick Dorgu shortly after half-time, but a late flurry of goals from Goncalo Ramos, Alphadjo Cisse and Ruben Loftus-Cheek killed the tie off.
