SHEFFIELD aim to make it four home wins on the spin when they host King’s Lynn on Monday (August 17, 7.30pm).
The Tigers have hit 50+ points in each of their last three Owlerton outings – but it was the Stars who inflicted their only home league defeat of the season to date at the start of July.
That occasion saw Sheffield let a ten point lead slip with just five races to go, but they have since responded emphatically in front of the Tigers’ faithful.
After their depleted’s side’s heavy, disappointing defeat at Leicester, Sheffield have Chris Holder back in their septet after being forced to miss the clash against the Lions due to Polish league commitments.
Captain Josh Pickering is also set to return after attempting a comeback in Poland on Sunday which saw him score seven points.
Elsewhere, 2017 World Champion Jason Doyle will guest at No.1 for a second home meeting in succession after notching 9+1 against Leicester last time out.
With the Tigers sitting four points ahead of King’s Lynn who find themselves outside the play-off zone in fifth, and with an aggregate point also up for grabs with Sheffield trailing 50-40, team boss Simon Stead again recognises the importance of this head-to-head.
“Make no mistake about it, with how the league table is shaping up, this meeting against King’s Lynn could be a pretty big one,” Stead said.
“Our home performances of late have improved drastically and we’re going to need to continue that run.
“If we could overturn the ten point aggregate deficit and collect three league points, that would open up a seven point gap over King’s Lynn in fifth and that feels like it would be a big, big step towards qualification for the play-offs once again.
“However, they showed on their previous visit that they are a force to be reckoned with on their day – so we’re, again, going to need to bring our A-game to the table.”
Tigers Ten Tickets are valid and holders must show their card at the hut outside Napoleons Casino to receive their parking free of charge before gaining admission via the VIP gate next to the main turnstiles.

Standard admission tickets can be purchased by cash or card at the turnstiles on racenight only which open from 6pm. Supporters are advised that Turnstile 1 is Card ONLY whilst Turnstiles 2 and 3 are both cash and card.

And ‘Tigers Jackpot’ tickets will again be on sale with the jackpot reset to £100 which will increase with every ticket purchased for just £1.
