A man has been charged after a car was stolen from a drive in New Brighton and stopped by police just two hours later in Staffordshire.
Just after 4am on Friday, 14 August, Merseyside Police received a report that a silver MG was taken from a property on Mount Road in New Brighton.
Officers stopped the driver of the vehicle in Staffordshire, who was suspected to have taken drugs. He was taken into custody and later arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle following police enquiries.
Alexlaexandru Apintiliesei, aged 28, of Manor Road in Liscard, was charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
He was remanded and appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court on Monday, 17 August.
