Liverpool are focused on signing at least one attacking player between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

Talks are ongoing to sign Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye with PSG, although the two sides are no closer to agreeing a fee.

In terms of attacking departures, Cody Gakpo has been linked with Tottenham and Federico Chiesa has keen admirers in Serie A, while a few youngsters could leave on loan.

And that is exactly the plan with Kieran Morrison, who showed flashes of brilliance in pre-season.

Kieran Morrison to leave Liverpool on loan

The youngster is close to joining Sheffield Wednesday on loan as they edged out a bunch of suitors from England and abroad to secure his signature.

An excerpt from the Liverpool Echo’s article reads: “And Morrison, who penned a new Liverpool contract in the summer, is now poised to spend the remainder of the campaign at Sheffield Wednesday, with the Yorkshire side having moved to the head of a list that includes a number of clubs both domestic and overseas.”

Morrison featured heavily during the first half of pre-season. Now, however, with senior players back in the team, he hasn’t had too many opportunities in recent weeks and is now set to leave on loan.

Good luck for the forthcoming season, Kieran!
