As one of the frontrunners for the highly-coveted part of James Bond, Callum Turner is no stranger to facing questions from the press. But despite being heavily linked with the role, the actor is categorically refusing to give away any details about the speculation.
Since Daniel Craig made his final appearance as Ian Fleming’s MI6 agent in 2021’s No Time to Die, several actors – ranging from Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Louis Partridge – have been linked with the iconic role.
Another one of those linked names is Turner, the actor known for his roles in Masters of the Air and Eternity. Questions about 007 have followed him around for the past few months, but he has largely refused to comment on the rumours.

And this stance hasn’t changed when asked about the speculation by Esquire UK, where the actor responded: “I’m not going to comment on that. I don’t know anything, so I can’t comment. There’s nothing for me to comment on.”
Turner was asked a few more times about the part, to which he said that it would be “best just to not say anything”. When asked for his opinion on the iconic role, he responded that it was a “loaded thing”.
While Turner has repeatedly refused to comment on the role, one actor who recently ruled himself out of the running was James Norton, with the Happy Valley star giving one reason as to why he wouldn’t play 007.
“I’ve been asked a thousand times over the last ten years. And I can honestly, hand on heart, say no,” he said during an appearance on Capital Breakfast. “I think I may be a little bit long in the tooth now.”

Another famous face who was recently linked was Jack Lowden, with former Pointless co-presenter Richard Osman claiming that the Slow Horses and The Gold star was being “strongly considered” for the role.
While it remains to be seen who the next Bond will be, work is already under way on the 26th film in the long-running franchise, with Peaky Blinders boss Steven Knight penning a screenplay that will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
