ShopeePay users from Singapore and Thailand can now make QR payments while travelling in China.
They can scan Weixin Pay merchant QR codes and pay directly through the ShopeePay or Shopee app.
The service will later expand to users from Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The partnership connects ShopeePay to TenPay Global’s cross-border payment infrastructure and Weixin Pay’s network of tens of millions of merchants.

TenPay Global, Tencent’s cross-border payment platform, works with nearly 50 international digital wallets across 13 countries and regions.
These partnerships allow international visitors to pay at Weixin Pay merchants using supported digital wallets from their home markets.
Its existing partners include PayPal in the United States, Hana Pay and Travel Wallet in South Korea, BCEL in Laos and HiPay in Mongolia.
