Police and fire crews have descended on Morningside Road amid an ongoing emergency incident
Morningside Road is closed at the junction with Millar Crescent down to Cluny Avenue, with buses diverted by way of Balcarres Street, Myreside Road and Colinton Road in both directions. Services affected are 5,11,15,16,23,36.
A fire appliance has been stationed on Hermitage Terrace and police and fire officers have been spotted assessing the scene on a building site the same road.
There is an ongoing project to replace the redundant post office at 265 Morningside Road with a new bar, restaurant and hotel.
The nature of the incident is unknown at this stage, but Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have been approached for comment.
