Birmingham City host Bristol City at St. Andrew’s this Saturday as the new Championship season continues.
Birmingham City begin their home Championship campaign with a tie against Bristol City this weekend. It marks a tough test for BCFC as they look to build on their opening draw.
The Blues come into the tie after a goalless draw at Sheffield United last weekend. Chris Davies‘ side played some good stuff and held firm on the road, but will were not able to secure all three points. On home turf for the first time this league season, City will be out to secure all three points.
Bristol City meanwhile were beaten at Ashton Gate by Millwall. Midfielder Adam Randell was sent off before a Josh Coburn double confirmed an opening day defeat for the Robins and new boss Michael Skubala.
Eyes are peeled for off-pitch developments at Ashton Gate amid advancing talks over significant investment in the club. Nonetheless, after a frustrating opening day defeat, Skubala will be hoping to see more from his new-look side as they look to break into the Championship play-off fight again.

“BCFC started the campaign with a battling point on the road at Sheffield United, as they search for their first league win. After an encouraging display away from home despite the goalless draw, it will be hoped the hosts can control the game and create the chances to give them the upper hand here.
“After a big summer of spending, Bristol City will be demanding a response after their defeat last time out. Their 2-0 defeat to much-fancied Millwall was far from ideal for Skubala’s side
“With recent additions, both sides have enough quality to make this an entertaining one. After a promising point on the road last time out, Blues will back themselves to pick up a first win of on Saturday. I’m going for a home with in this one.”

“This will be an interesting game to keep an eye. Birmingham City did a lot of the right stuff and Sheffield United but just couldn’t conjure up the match-winning moment to take a good three points.
“The hope of a new season will hopefully make for a positive atmosphere. There’s no hiding Davies’ side is still lacking in terms of creativity, but if they can address that, they can definitely progress this term.
“Bristol City are going to be a tough opponent but I do think this will be a year of transition. A lot has changed on and off the pitch, so they could struggle against teams who are a little more set in their ways.
“BCFC certainly fit that profile, so I’m inclined to go for a home win here.”
