Iconic Bristol venue Mickey Zoggs has found a new home in Bristol and is set to open its doors to the public this month.
Signs for the new cafe/bar venue, which is also home to independent radio station Noods Radio, have appeared at the former home of Cloak on Cheltenham Road in Montpelier.
And the team at Mickey Zoggs have told BristolLive that they will be having a soft launch this weekend (Friday and Saturday, May 23 and 24), as well as the following weekend, with everything opening as usual in June, just as they finish up the studio.
BristolLive reported back in May 2024 that Noods Radio had launched a Crowdfunder campaign with the aim of raising £70k in 30 days in order to save its home at the former Surrey Vaults pub in St Pauls from redevelopment.
Noods Radio launched the crowdfunding campaign to purchase its home, Mickey Zoggs in St Pauls, after reportedly being told by its landlord that it would need to buy the pub or relocate. It came as the radio station neared the end of its tenancy there.
The team successfully raised £75,166 with 1,578 supporters in 68 days, on June 23, 2024. The deal to purchase their home, which they had been in since 2021, fell through, but they now hope they can make their brand new location bigger and better than ever.
The team behind Noods Radio run various programmes and initiatives aimed at paving the way for new and inclusive talent within the creative industries.

From workshops helping women and non-binary individuals to enter the world of broadcasting, to educational initiatives designed to help young people gain the skills and experience necessary for a lifelong career in the creative sectors, the radio station aims to ‘give back to the community that keeps it alive’.
Meanwhile, Mickey Zoggs is known for supporting underground music ‘without the chaos’. In recent years the space has become an open platform where emerging talent can play alongside established artists.
Run by three individuals ‘with a love for music’ – two of which founded Noods Radio – Mickey Zoggs has been known and loved as a music for years it is hoped that this will continue at its new location.
The team have recently been sharing videos and images of the work to get the new venue ready to posts on the official Instagram page, which describes Mickey Zoggs as being a ‘recent addition to Cheltenham Road’ and opening May 23, at 6pm.
Taking to the comments section, fans were quick to welcome them to the neighbourhood.
One said: “Looks amazing! So excited for you all.” While a second said: “Can’t bloody wait to get in there! Looks amazing, well done guys.”
A sign in the window reads: “Mickey Rides Again”.
