We often find ourselves turning to the Princess of Wales when we’re looking for inspiration on how to dress, thanks to the way she balances her own sartorial style with new trends, and today is no exception. As we head into autumn and the return of shirts and blazers, Catherine just offered a fresh take on a classic combination, opting for a romantic blouse with intricate lace detailing over a more traditional collar.
This morning, August 24, The Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk in Aberdeenshire, alongside Princess Anne. The couple’s three children, George, 13, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, eight, were also in attendance, with their sons photographed in the back of the car wearing black suits.

The Royals were joined by members of the Balaklava company, 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, who provided a guard of honour to the family on arrival.
The photographs marks the family’s first public appearance this month, and the Princess of Wales opted for what looks like a pintuck ruffled collar to mark the occasion. The return of Victorian-era style dressing, featuring statement high necklines, waterfall ruffles and romantic layering has been all over the AW 26 catwalks, as seen at Erdem, Dior and Gabriela Hearst.
The style has already made its way onto the high street, with M&S offering various styles of the silhouette, featuring high frill neck and fine pin-tucks, to bring a feminine feel.

For the service, the Princess of Wales also opted for another item that has recently made its way into the wardrobes of the fashion set, but has long been approved by HRH: the pillbox hat.
It appears she’s as on the fashion pulse as ever.
