This weekend saw the Royal Family gather together in force, with the King and Queen, Prince Anne and the Prince and Princess of Wales snapped driving over to a church service. The royals were joining together in Aberdeenshire, Scotland for the occasion, and we couldn’t help notice the elevated blouse the Princess of Wales chose for the day.

On Sunday (23 August), the Prince and Princess of Wales were photographed driving to Crathie Kirk Church in Crathie, Scotland. While in the country, the couple are known by the their alternate titles, the Duke and Duchess of Rothsay.

Prince William was driving while Kate smiled in the passenger seat, and the couple’s oldest son, Prince George, peered over his mother’s shoulder. For the family church service, the Princess of Wales chose a classic lace blouse which was lifted by a simple detail – a high collar.

The collar added detail and formality to an otherwise everyday blouse, and we’ve found a double from Phase Eight which is currently on sale for 35% off (at time of writing). The ‘Coralina Embroidered Frill Blouse’ is reduced from £85 to £55, although some sizes are beginning to sell out already:

Kate took her look to the next level by adding a pair of chandelier earrings, which fell to the same level as the statement collar. While the Princess has worn dramatic chandelier earrings at formal occasions before (such as the Greville Chandelier Earrings for the Royal Variety Performance last year; below) this pair were more relaxed, but still added an elevated feel to her ensemble.

She appears to be wearing a pair featuring toffee coloured stones by Ralph Lauren (which are no longer available to buy), picking up the warm shade of her hat, which finished off the look perfectly.

The King and Queen were also spotted heading to the church in a separate car, and gave a nod to the Scottish location with a touch of tartan. Queen Camilla wore a red and green tartan skirt with a green jacket featuring tartan lapels, while her husband, The King, picked up on similar tones with his tie. The couple were driven by a chauffeur, and sat side by side in the back of an officially marked Bentley as they made their way to the Sunday service.
