A teenager was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Tameside.

Emergency services were called out to Victoria Street in Newton, Hyde, at 4.25pm on Monday (May 19).

Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of a collision involving a car and an e-bike.

The rider of the e-bike, a 17-year-old boy, suffered serious leg and arm injuries from the collision.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

GMP says the driver of the car remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the collision so far.

Images from the scene show a cordon in place near to the junction of Talbot Road and Matley Lane.

Multiple GMP vehicles were in attendance at the scene and traffic was urged to avoid the area.

Officers remained in attendance for a number of hours on Monday evening.
