Budget accommodation brand easyHotel is expanding its Spanish operations by adding three new properties in the country this year.
The UK-based company, which was acquired by investment firm Tristan Capital Partners earlier this month, has just opened a hotel in Madrid with two other properties in Barcelona and Valencia due to follow this summer. The three hotels will add a total of 250 rooms in Spain.
EasyHotel’s new openings will take its presence in Spain up to five properties – the company already has hotels in Barcelona and Malaga.
The brand’s Madrid hotel, easyHotel Alcalá, is located in the San Blas district in the east of the Spanish capital. Meanwhile EasyHotel Barcelona La Sagrera is set to open on 7 July, with easyHotel Ciutat Vella to follow in August.
The hotel company said Spain was “a priority market” and it plans further openings – a sixth property in Alicante is planned to make its debut in 2026. It also plans to open more city-based hotels in Portugal and France in the coming years.
Karim Malak, easyHotel’s CEO, added: “We are thrilled to see the significant progress of our rollout in Spain. As we open three hotels this year alone, we are staying true to our mission to provide great sleep, smart design and unbeatable city access at an affordable price.”
EasyHotel currently has around 50 hotels in operation, which are primarily located in the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
