A royal expert has advised Meghan to befriend four key royals if the Duchess wants any chance at a successful UK return. 

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been away trying to build an independent life of luxury and success in the United States, the world has kept revolving across the pond in the United Kingdom.

Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine has issued the Duchess a stern warning to make nice with the social circle of key royals and refrain from rocking the boat once there.

According to Vine, while Harry and Meghan have been “throwing tantrums, alliances have formed in support of one another, and new players have come to the fore”.

Vine has said that since Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal life, it has been out with the old “fab four” – which used to consist of Harry, Meghan, William, and Catherine – and in with the new. 

Queen Camilla; Catherine, Princess of Wales; Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and stalwart Princess Anne “now represent a formidable quartet of soft power, one which is aligned in its unfailing loyalty to the King and the legacy of the Crown”.

Meghan has been advised to befriend the powerful royals, who, as Vine describes, have “each in their own way, stepped up to the plate and really established themselves as forces in their own right”.

Without the women’s endorsement, Vine says it’s going to make re-establishing into royal circles a lot harder for Meghan and Harry, particularly after the defaming claims the couple have lobbed against the royal family since stepping back. 

“That is not to say it cannot happen; but if the Sussexes attempt to hurt or undermine the Royal Family, or pull a fast one as they have done in the past, they will have these four queens to answer to,” Vine added.

Meghan, 45, has previously opened up about how far the royal life was from her Hollywood lifestyle, making it hard to imagine a seamless transition.

In the second episode of the Harry & Meghan docuseries, Meghan described the moment she first curtsied to the late Queen during her first meeting with Queen Elizabeth in 2016 at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

She began acting out an exaggerated curtsy and compared the experience to a medieval-themed restaurant chain in the United States. 

“I mean, Americans would understand this. We have Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. It was like that,” the 45-year-old said in the docuseries.

The Duchess then outstretched her arms and put her head in her lap in the dramatic display, while saying: “Pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty”.

Royal Editor Chris Ship claimed Harry looked “a little uncomfortable” as he sat in silence and watched on as Meghan demonstrated the curtsy.

Princess Catherine and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh share a very close, supportive friendship often described as a royal sisterhood.

Both women entered the royal family from ordinary, non-royal backgrounds and have acclimated to their roles in spectacular fashion – and hold a great deal of power over Meghan’s future in the UK.

Harry and Meghan are expected to land in the UK by the end of August and have reportedly secured a new residence in the Cotswolds and enrolled their two children in school.

The Sussexes are yet to release a statement regarding the big move.
