Liverpool will play Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Holders Manchester City will host Championship side Norwich City, while last season’s beaten finalists Arsenal travel to newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion, while Chelsea, should they defeat Luton Town in Thursday’s second-round tie, will host Leeds United.
This round sees the introduction of the nine Premier League clubs — Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Brighton and Crystal Palace — taking part in European football this season join the 23 second-round winners.
Due to potential scheduling issues, the eight Champions League and Europa League clubs cannot be drawn against each other in round three, although this does not include Brighton, who are aiming to compete in this season’s Conference League.
To avoid clashes with opening the weeks of the Champions League and Europa League league phases, the third round will be played across two different weeks in early to mid September.
