Rumours have been circulating that Steven Gerrard could once again become the Rangers manager, with tongues wagging whether he, his wife Alex and their brood will be heading back up to Glasgow. The couple will celebrating 18 years of marriage next month and it’s fair to say, they’ve been on some journey.
Things are only set to get more interesting, as their most recent life change is that they are set to become grandparents, with first-born daughter Lilly-Ella’s announcement earlier this year that she is expecting her first baby.
The duo have built a strong relationship, between their journey to parenthood, moving to LA and doing long-distance when Steven’s work took him to Glasgow and Bahrain.
Stunning wedding day and LA move
Steven and model Alex Curran got together in 2002 and welcomed daughters Lilly-Ella and Lexie before tying the knot in 2007 in a lavish ceremony in Buckinghamshire.
The former Liverpool captain wore a pale grey suit while Alex donned an embellished princess style dress, complete with a long white veil as the pair said I do at glamorous mansion Cliveden House.
Four years later, in 2011, the Gerrard family expanded and they welcomed another daughter, Lourdes, on November 1.

The couple briefly moved to Los Angeles in 2015 when Steven signed an 18-month deal with LA Galaxy, which was said to be worth £4million a year. The club is said to have put the couple and their three daughters up in a £16.8m home.
Speaking about the move to The Mirror in 2015, Alex said it was the right decision for their family.
She said: “He has an 18-month deal, but I hope he gets it extended because it’s great here.

“I’d love to stay here longer. It’s so different to Liverpool, but I think we’ll be really happy.”
The couple made a joint decision to up sticks to LA after the Liverpool captain stunned the football world in 2014, when he announced he was quitting the club he signed for at nine.
Alex said at the time: “Steven obviously thought about it for a long time. It wasn’t easy.”
Any big European club like Real Madrid or AC Milan would have snapped up Steven, but Alex said it was never an option. “We chose here (LA) because of the language,” she explained at the time.
“They speak English in America. In Spain or Italy, the barrier would have been difficult for all of us, especially the kids.”
Back to England
But a year on, the couple reportedly were homesick and missed their life back in England.

After his second season with LA Galaxy, Gerrard returned to the UK with his family. In 2017, Steven and Alex welcomed their first son, Lio, and at that time, Gerrard had been working as a Liverpool Academy coach for just shy of a year.
He was also appearing at various charity events and acting as a football pundit when his career took a major turn.
Rangers
On May 4, 2018, Gerrard signed with Rangers Football Club as their next manager after a tough few seasons. While the doting dad made the move to Govan, his wife and children stayed put in Merseyside.
He told the Daily Mail at the time that it was hard being separated from his family.
He said: “It comes with its challenges, in terms of the family situation and I am not going to be at Rangers forever,
“I understand that. I have got dreams of one day going down south and managing teams down there but I am in no rush, I haven’t got a date or a time so I haven’t really thought too much about what Jamie said in that interview.”
Gerrard added: “They have got a fantastic, world class manager, they are on a real wave of success and as a fan that is an unbelievable place to be in and I am really proud of the club and the efforts of the last couple of years and I’m loving seeing Liverpool where they are right now.
“I need to focus on the job I’m in now which is a fantastic opportunity for me and a huge job.”
Bahrain
After leaving Rangers in 2021 for his shot at the English Premier League, he was shown the door by Aston Villa before making a surprise move to the Saudi Pro League.
During that time, the Gerrard family reportedly stayed in a luxury villa in the village of Hamala. Their home, which cost around £10,000 per month, boasted a swimming pool and games room and was situated near members of the Bahraini royalty.

Gerrard is said to be looking for his next job following his ill-fated spell at Al-Ettifaq. With interim boss Barry Ferguson leaving his post following the final game of the Scottish Premiership season against Hibs the process of appointing a new boss has ramped up – with Gerrard a favourite.
However, it may be harder to leave for Glasgow this time as his daughter Lilly-Ella is heavily pregnant with his first grandchild. Lilly-Ella is dating Lee Byrne, who is the son of alleged mob boss Liam Byrne.
