Fire crews have descended on a house in Didsbury after a blaze broke out in the basement this evening.
Three fire engines were deployed to the property on Didsbury Park at around 6.51pm. Pictures from the scene show firefighters tending to the fire.
The fire has since been extinguished. Crews remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 6:51pm this evening (Thursday 27 August), three fire engines from Withington and Wythenshawe fire stations were called to reports of a fire in the basement of a house on Didsbury Park in Manchester.

“Crews arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel, an electric fan and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.
“Crews have been in attendance for over 40 minutes and remain at the scene.”
