17:58 Hexham – Rumble B
Although he has been a bit frustrating to follow recently, RUMBLE B is taken to reap the reward from some decent placed efforts recently by reversing recent C&D placings with Tartan Cookie. Mademewhatiam could go well at a big price.
18:10 Huntingdon – Alvesta
Window Of Time (second choice) and Little Soiree are not passed over lightly but preference is for ALVESTA who lacks the experience of some of these but looks to be on a fair opening mark for her handicap debut.
19:10 Huntingdon – Jeudidee
Quite a competitive race for the grade despite the small field, with Shadows In The Sky, the 2023 winner Cloudy Wednesday (second choice) and Prospect House coming into this in good form. However, all three seem to be suited by making the running so something will have to give. It may therefore be worth taking a chance with JEUDIDEE, who made a promising return at Warwick last month (form boosted) and should stay this trip on breeding.
A competitive race for the grade can go to KICKSAFTERSIX who had several of these rivals behind him when gaining his second C&D win of the year last time. C’Est Quelqu’un, who was third to him last time, and Halfway House, who was second to him here last month, are two others who should go well.
Doc McCoy (second choice) is the solid option after successfully returning to hurdles at Fakenham last month, but it may be worth chancing LAND GIRL’S LUCK. She doesn’t look an easy ride, but the ability is there and the step back up in trip and return of the cheekpieces (in which she scored at Sedgefield) may enable her to show it.
Addosh (second choice) hasn’t been with Brian Ellison for long and still has handicapping scope following her Sedgefield success a week ago, despite a 7lb penalty. However, preference is for another penalised runner in GRAND SCHEME who came home 15l clear the day before on only his fifth start over hurdles. Huit Reflets, representing last year’s winning stable, is back off the same mark as for his sole success over C&D last summer and looks very much the best of the others.
