Stellar Blade PS5 PC 1

Stellar Blade team Shift Up has officially confirmed it now has a sequel to the PS5 fan-favourite in the works, revealed in an investors’ presentation.

On one of the slides in a May 2025 powerpoint, it is shared the studio is working on Nikke, Stellar Blade, and something called Project Witches through until 2027. Under the Stellar Blade tab, it has “platform expansion” and a “sequel” listed. The former could mean Stellar Blade releasing on new consoles — like Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, in addition to the imminent PC version — while the latter is, of course, a full follow-up to Eve’s excellent debut.

Given the success of the first game, a sequel was expected. What’s surprising, however, is Shift Up plans to have it out before 2027. The original is just over a year old at this point, so to have a follow-up released within the next two years would be impressive given current development cycles. A Complete Edition, which bundles together all current content with additional Outfits and boss fights, is coming to PS5 and PC on 11th June.

Of course, release plans can shift all the time, so maybe don’t lock Stellar Blade 2 in for next year just yet — there could always be a delay.

In our Stellar Blade PS5 review, we awarded an 8/10 score and said: “A dire English dub and some trite story beats mean the studio still has plenty of room to refine its craft, but Eve’s inaugural outing is largely excellent across the board, and destined to become a firm favourite among PS5 enthusiasts.”

It now appears the developer will indeed get that opportunity to improve on what already was a fantastic experience.
