The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Milo Yiannopoulos, a British political commentator, was officially deported following his arrest, according to reports.
“On August 28, ICE deported Milo Yiannopoulos, an illegal alien from the United Kingdom, back to his home country,” a DHS spokesperson told The New York Post, per the media outlet.
DHS on Friday announced that Yiannopoulos was arrested a day prior at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana.

The agency said Yiannopoulos legally entered the U.S. on May 14, 2019, through New York, but “chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.”
Yiannopoulos, said DHS, was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on July 22 after he didn’t show up for at immigration hearing. He was in ICE custody leading up to his deportation.
“Being in detention is a choice. We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App,” DHS said in a post on X.
“The United States is offering illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now,” the agency added. “We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.”
TMZ reported that Yiannopoulos served as chief of staff for rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, for two years. Yiannopoulos was also Ye’s director of political operations for his 2024 presidential campaign.
